A Valentine Gift + Something for ME!

LOVE mini-quilt

I have always been curious about the paper piecing method of quilting. It always seemed too confusing to try. But after I saw this tutorial over at Sew Mama Sew, I just knew I had to give it a try! And you know what? It wasn't hard or confusing at all!
The directions are clearly written and easy to follow. I was pleased as punch with the finished project. It's a pretty cute little hanging if I do say so myself. I gave it to my husband for Valentine's Day. (I know, it's early, but I just couldn't wait!)

Swoon Coraline Clutch (for ME!)

I made something for myself! It's called self-care sewing. The purse that I had made for myself ages ago was in desperate need of being replaced. I made the Coraline clutch by Swoon Sewing Patterns. I made the small clutch with a wristlet strap. I must say it's probably the smallest purse I've ever carried, but lately I've found myself just carrying around my wallet, chapstick, and hand sanitizer, so this cute little clutch fits the bill. Plus it's cheery during all this heavy winter we are having!

I had so much fun making that one that I just HAD to make another one! My daughter was invited to a friend's birthday party and she asked me to make a clutch for her friend, only bigger. So I made the Coraline clutch in the large size. The large size is a very generous size and even fits an iPad mini--it even zips shut comfortably to keep the iPad mini secure. I think she will like it!
