The Norah Dress

SQUEAL! Did you hear that? Should I shout it again? Well, I won't, but SERIOUSLY! How adorable is this tunic?

Mouse House Creations so generously gave me a copy of her pattern: The Norah Dress and Tunic. As I was reading the pattern, this design literally popped into my head. I rushed to JoAnn's to
purchase the fabric. WEll, guess what? Remnants were 75% off! Of course they had THE PERFECT color that I was looking for. Yay!
The details in this dress are simply stunning. There are options a-plenty and I had a hard time deciding. In the end I settled on this tunic with the big, bold stripes. I added the collar and the ties because I think they just make the dress that much more adorable.
Such a professional finish--look at that neck opening. Perfection if I do say so myself! In order to make this big, bold stripes I cut strips from each fabric measuring 3.5 inches. Then I pieced them together. After piecing I top-stitched each piece using black thread towards the black fabric. This was how I made my striped fabric. Once I had my fabric all sewn together, I simply cut out the pattern and followed the instructions (which are excellent by the way--but isn't that what you would expect from a pattern by Mouse House).
And now for the big surprise of this dress: instead of doing the traditional lining, I opted to go with a full lining. And guess what? Now the dress is reversible! Yes, even with that collar and ties. I think she was pleased with the results.
You can make this pattern, too! You can purchase it by itself from Mouse House Creations, or you can purchase the DIY bundle, which includes this pattern PLUS several other sewing patterns along with a whole slew of ebooks and ecourses on the topics of crafts, scrapbooks, home decor, gardening, photography, journaling, and the list goes on. The best part about the bundle is the bonuses...one of which is a totally FREE Craftsy class! These are full-fledged Craftsy classes, not the sample ones either. I was AMAZED by the selection of  Craftsy classes that bundle members could choose from. In fact there were 4 classes that my girls and I just couldn't decide on. In the end we settled on the Basic Digital Photography class and then purchased the Perfect Cupcake class just because it looked so yummy!
Let me tell you, I purchased my bundle already and I am so beyond impressed with the selection and quality of the things that are included. It's an incredible value, but you already know that. :)

I'm usually not a fan of bundles because they tend to overwhelm me with the amount of information included. But this DIY stuff just so happens to be right up my alley (in case you haven't already figured that out). When I started looking at the items included, I knew right away that there were about 6 or 7 that I knew I wanted. That alone was worth the cost because now I also have the other books to look through as well. I think there are a couple that my girls will definitely be looking over my shoulder as I read. :) This bundle truly appeals to the DIY'er at heart. Even my girls are exclaiming which projects they are hoping to try out. We will be busy for months!
I've rambled on long enough. Run, don't walk, and grab your bundle while it's still available. Remember it's only available for 6 days. There is a limited amount of bundles too, so it's better to get it before they run out!
Still on the fence? Need more convincing? Here is the FAQ if you have questions; you can also read some testimonials and then go purchase the bundle. Oh and don't forget there is a 30 day money back guarantee. If you are not 100% satisfied then you can get your money back. So go ahead, check it out!

  1. Brilliant, Linda! I stocked up on some remnants this week, too. Spent about $9 and saved $35 :) and that was with buying some Gutterman thread. I love this look!

    1. Thanks, Bethany. I hope you enjoy your bundle and your remnants!

  2. Cute! Reminds me of the Farbenmix patterns. :)

    1. Thank you! I love the Farbenmix patterns! Can you believe those are the first patterns that really got me into sewing?!?! I still have them because they allow for so much creative interpretation.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas!
